Who is responsible

What we ask, and why

The contact and support forms. Your name, your email address and what you write. We need those to answer you. They stay in our own system as long as the matter runs and for two years after that, so we can look up what was agreed.

The shop. Your name, your company, your email address and your company or VAT number. We need those to handle the purchase, to work out the VAT and to make the invoice. Belgian bookkeeping law obliges us to keep invoice details for seven years.

Invoicing and follow-up. Your name, your address, your invoice details and the letters we send you about an unpaid invoice. We need those to invoice you and to follow up an invoice that stays open. We keep them for seven years, as accounting law requires.

The payment. We never see your card details. The payment runs at Mollie B.V., our payment processor; they receive the amount, your name and an order reference.

Our mail. Mail from this site leaves through Google Workspace, our mail provider. Your address passes through their servers, as with any email.

Measuring visits, without cookies

We count which pages get read and where visitors come from. That happens on our own server, without cookies, without an advertising network and without following anyone across other sites. That is also why you see no cookie banner here: there is nothing to consent to.

Your rights

You may ask what we hold about you, have it corrected, or have it deleted. One mail to info@nonius.be is enough and you get an answer within a week. What the tax authority obliges us to keep, we keep; we will tell you which part that is. You can also complain to the Belgian Data Protection Authority, gegevensbeschermingsautoriteit.be.
